Bolts are produced from Carpenter 158 steel and magnetic particle inspected (MPI) before assembly to detect surface and subsurface defects. Carriers are machined from 8620 steel and heat treated to mil-spec hardness. Finish options across the Anderson lineup include phosphate for standard mil-spec corrosion resistance, nickel boron for improved lubricity and easier cleaning, and nitride for a harder, more corrosion-resistant surface.
