Description
The Strike Industries Extended Bolt Catch gives your AR-15 a heavy-duty oversized bolt release lever. The wide paddle design makes thumb and palm engagement much faster under high-stress conditions. Because of this, the si extended bolt catch works reliably even with gloved hands. As a result, this si extended bolt catch speeds up bolt lock and release during rapid reloads.
In addition, Strike Industries uses solid investment cast 8620 steel — not MIM — for maximum strength. Furthermore, the lever carries reinforcement for increased durability and impact resistance. Also, a widened lower lever gives extra surface area for positive bolt locking. Moreover, the catch hardens to military specifications for reliable long-term use. When you want a si extended bolt catch with a wide paddle and cast steel construction, this is it.

The bolt catch is the control on the left side of the AR-15 or AR-10 lower receiver that locks the bolt carrier group to the rear when the last round in the magazine is fired, and releases the bolt to chamber a new round when the magazine is changed and the bolt catch paddle is pressed. The standard mil-spec bolt catch paddle is relatively small and can be difficult to activate quickly under stress or while wearing gloves, particularly for the support hand thumb technique used to release the bolt after a reload. An enhanced or extended bolt catch provides a larger paddle surface area for faster, more positive actuation during slide lock reloads, reducing the chance of a fumbled bolt release under stress. The Strike Industries bolt catch installs in the standard bolt catch pin hole of any mil-spec AR-15 or AR-10 lower receiver without modification, using the existing bolt catch roll pin and plunger spring. The anodized aluminum construction keeps the bolt catch lightweight while providing a durable, hard surface that resists wear from repeated actuation.
