The Rugged Suppressors R3 Flash Mitigation System is a suppressor-ready muzzle device that reduces muzzle flash while also functioning as the mounting interface for compatible Rugged Suppressors suppressors. The R3 design uses three evenly spaced prongs or ports to redirect and disperse muzzle gases, mitigating the visible flash signature at the muzzle — particularly useful in low-light conditions where muzzle flash can temporarily degrade the shooter’s night vision or reveal their position. The R3 FMS also serves as the host-side interface for Rugged Suppressors suppressors using compatible mounting systems, allowing the suppressor to be attached and detached while the R3 remains installed on the barrel. This eliminates the need to swap between a standalone muzzle device and a suppressor mount — the R3 performs both functions simultaneously. The thread pitch stamped or engraved on the R3 FMS must match the host barrel’s muzzle thread — confirm compatibility before ordering. Common 7.62 thread pitches include 5/8×24, 9/16×24, 3/4×24, M18x1, M18x1.5, M15x1, and SR25 3/4×24. The R3 must be properly timed, indexed, and torqued to the barrel before use with or without a suppressor attached.
