The Rugged Suppressors Obsidian Dual Taper Friction Mount is a friction-lock mounting solution designed specifically for the Obsidian9 and Obsidian45 suppressors. When paired with any Rugged Dual Taper Mount muzzle device, it opens up a whole new range of host compatibility — including 300 BLK rifles, pistol-caliber carbines (PCCs), and .357 lever actions. Installation tool is included.

The Rugged Suppressors Obsidian Dual Taper Friction Mount is a pistol suppressor mount that uses a dual-taper locking geometry to provide a secure, tool-free attachment between the host pistol’s barrel and the Obsidian suppressor. Unlike a threaded direct-thread mount, the dual taper friction mount uses the tapered interface between the mount and the suppressor’s mounting hub to create a friction lock that secures the suppressor in place during firing while still allowing the suppressor to be removed by hand without tools. The dual taper design provides a repeatable return-to-battery attachment that consistently indexes the suppressor in the same position each time it is installed, ensuring consistent point of impact and gas seal between the host barrel and suppressor. Confirm the mount’s thread pitch matches the host pistol’s barrel threads before ordering. The mount includes the Nielsen device (booster) assembly required for reliable cycling on semi-automatic pistols with a tilting barrel — the spring-loaded piston decouples the suppressor’s mass from the barrel’s recoil stroke so the pistol cycles reliably with the suppressor attached.
