The 3-lug mount is a quick-detach suppressor mounting system used with hosts equipped with a 3-lug barrel — most commonly found on HK MP5, SP5, MP5K, and similar 9mm host firearms that use a Nielsen-device-based suppressor attachment. The 3-lug mount threads onto the host firearm’s barrel stub and the compatible suppressor locks onto the mount via three evenly spaced lugs on the suppressor’s mounting hub, allowing the suppressor to be attached and detached in a single rotation without tools.
