The Cherry Bomb muzzle brake is designed to reduce felt recoil and muzzle rise on rifle-caliber AR-15 and AR-10 pattern rifles by redirecting expanding propellant gases upward and to the sides through the brake’s ports as the projectile exits the muzzle. This counteracts the rearward and upward forces generated by the exiting round, keeping the muzzle flatter between shots and allowing faster target re-acquisition for follow-up shots during rapid fire. The 5/8×24 thread pitch is the standard thread for .30 caliber and larger rifle barrels — commonly used on .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, .300 Blackout supersonic loads, and other rifle calibers using a 5/8-inch muzzle thread.
