The KGM Quick Detach Flash Hider is a birdcage-style QD muzzle device that lets you run any of the KGM R556, R556A1, R556A2, R30A1, or R30A2 suppressors on any rifle with 1/2×28 muzzle threads. A precision taper mounting surface and ratcheting secondary retention system ensure precise, repeatable suppressor alignment every time — no tools, no fuss.
Machined from heat-treated Chromoly Steel and finished with an OXyN gas nitride coating, this QD flash hider is built to handle the abuse of sustained fire while keeping corrosion and wear in check unsuppressed.

The KGM Quick Detach Flash Hider is designed as the host-side mount for a compatible quick-detach (QD) suppressor system. The flash hider threads onto the host barrel’s muzzle and serves as the permanent attachment point from which a compatible QD suppressor can be attached and detached rapidly without thread engagement or tools. In unsuppressed use, the flash hider functions as a standard muzzle device, redirecting propellant gases away from the shooter’s line of sight to reduce visible muzzle flash. The nitride finish — applied through a salt bath ferritic nitrocarburizing process — hardens the metal surface and provides a corrosion-resistant, matte black finish that is more durable than standard phosphate and requires less maintenance under field conditions. Unlike a coating applied on top of the metal, nitride penetrates the surface itself, meaning it cannot chip, flake, or peel during normal use. The thread pitch must match the host barrel’s muzzle threads exactly — confirm your barrel’s thread specification before ordering, as muzzle device threads are not interchangeable between different pitches.
