Note: Larger caliber mounts are NOT compatible with smaller caliber suppressors. Smaller caliber mounts ARE compatible with larger caliber suppressors.

HUXWRX Safety Co. muzzle devices serve as the host-side mount for the HUXWRX quick-detach (QD) suppressor system. The muzzle brake variant threads onto the host barrel’s muzzle and provides both recoil reduction and the fixed attachment interface for a compatible HUXWRX 5.56mm suppressor. Unlike a flash hider, a muzzle brake is optimized primarily for recoil management — side ports and baffles redirect propellant gas laterally and rearward to counteract muzzle rise and felt recoil during unsuppressed fire. When a suppressor is attached, the brake serves as the QD mount adapter. The QD system allows the suppressor to be attached and locked in a single motion and removed just as quickly, enabling fast transitions between suppressed and unsuppressed configurations without thread engagement or tools. Because muzzle brakes redirect gas to the sides, they produce increased concussive blast at the shooter’s lateral position — a factor to consider in confined spaces or when shooting alongside others at the range. The 1/2×28 thread pitch is the standard for 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington threaded AR-15 barrels in the US market.
