Description
The HUXWRX Flash Hider-QD 556 XL 1/2×28 is built for shooters who want a longer, high-performance muzzle device for their 5.56 NATO or 223 Remington rifle. At 2.96″ total length, it adds 2.34″ beyond the muzzle and effectively mitigates flash when shooting unsuppressed.
Thanks to its quick-disconnect (QD) interface, attaching or removing a suppressor takes only seconds. It works with HX-QD series suppressors (556k, 556, 762, 762 Ti, and Magnum Ti) as well as FLOW series suppressors (556k, 6k, 762 Ti). For VENTUM series suppressors, use it with the HUX HUB-Adapter.
In addition, the Flash Hider-QD 556 XL is pre-drilled for easy pin and weld. This makes permanent installation straightforward for builds that require it.
Important: Larger caliber mounts are NOT compatible with smaller caliber suppressors. However, smaller caliber mounts ARE compatible with larger caliber suppressors.

The XL (extra length) body of this flash hider provides additional standoff distance between the host barrel’s muzzle and the suppressor inlet when a compatible HUXWRX suppressor is attached. The extended length can improve gas management at the suppressor interface and reduce carbon fouling at the muzzle junction — a consideration on shorter barrels where muzzle pressure is higher and fouling accumulates more quickly. In unsuppressed use, the flash hider functions as a standard muzzle flash reduction device, redirecting propellant gases away from the shooter’s line of sight. The 1/2×28 thread pitch is the standard muzzle thread for 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington AR-15 barrels and is compatible with the vast majority of threaded AR-15 pattern muzzles in the US market.
